About

Who am I

I’m Girgis Youssef, an Egyptian real-estate developer and engineer. I lead J Communities as Chairman and CEO, and I founded New Jersey Developments (NJD).

I have more than 20 years in construction. I began my career in New Jersey, USA, working on high-profile projects, and later moved to Egypt. Since then I’ve worked on projects in New Cairo, Badr City, New Heliopolis and El Shorouk City, and I’m involved in the New Administrative Capital and El Galala City, in line with Egypt’s 2030 strategy.

I take an innovative approach to building sustainable, integrated communities, and I see Egypt as a leading destination for foreign real-estate investment.

The group

J Communities
It starts with J.

Launched in July 2026 as the group’s parent company, J Communities brings expertise, investments and projects together under one strategic vision.

Parent platform

J Communities directly oversees Jura (Ain Sokhna) and Jamila (Sidi Heneish, North Coast). NJD continues as a subsidiary during a transition and is ultimately to become part of J Communities.

Connected communities

The focus is connected communities rather than standalone projects, with plans to expand into commercial, administrative, hospitality and healthcare developments and to partner with local and international firms.

Two flagship destinations

Jura Sokhna on the Red Sea and Jamila on the North Coast, each with its own character and amenities.
